About Us

Vishva Hindu Parishad of Australia Inc or VHP of Australia (World Hindu Council of Australia ) has been working for the community in Australia since 1996. The Council strives for the ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (world is one family). It has a team of dedicated and committed volunteers inspired by eternal values of Dharma.

A dynamic, vibrant society inspired by the eternal values of Dharma (way of life) and the ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The world is one family), contributing towards the progress of Australia.


  1. Promote the principles of Unity in Diversity and multiculturalism in Australia, in partnership with the local councils, the Australian federal, state governments and other community organisations.
  2. Deliver services in the field of social service, education and cultural development.
  3. Inspire and support community members to participate in preservering Hindu heritage and cultural values.
  4. Promote strong ties among various divisions to deliver services effectively by providing training, mentoring, resource and networking opportunities.
  5. Support projects with a focus on art, culture and educational values to children and youth.


VHP of Australia’s projects and activities offer clear and visible benefit to communities and contribute to their development in cultural, educational, social and community welfare.


  1. Preserve and promote Hindu Dharma through educational cultural and social activities
  2. Create awareness of Hindu history, rich traditions and universal Dharma.
  3. Raise awareness of Hindu Dharma through seminars, conferences, publications, media, audio-visual aids.
  4. Provide community service to people in distress without consideration of race, religion or nationality.
  5. Encourage Hindu community to be true citizens of Australia : i.e. to participate in social and community activities with wider community participation.
  6. Cultivate the spirit of self respect in our way of life, and respect for people of all religions and nationality.
  7. Create opportunities for imbibing Hindu values, scriptures and heritage through camps and family retreats..
  8. Celebrate historically important days, and festivals for Hindus.
  9. Encourage networking among Hindus encouraging the spirit of service to humanity at large on the basis of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (World is one family).
